What are the diamonds made of?

What is the difference between 5D & 3D diamond painting?

5D diamond painting means that the drills have five facets. It means that the diamonds have five different reflective surfaces. whereas 3D diamond painting means that the drills have 3 facets. It means that the diamonds have three different reflective surfaces. As each facet reflects off the light falling on it, the more facets there are will make the drill sparkle brighter.

What is the difference between a partial drill and a full drill?

In partial drill diamond art kits, diamonds cover only a partial portion of the painting. Basically, it works in a way that the adhesive film only covers a certain portion of the painting and the rest of the canvas is a high-definition image printed onto the canvas.

As a result, you can only work on a particular portion of the canvas. Whereas in a full drill kit, diamonds cover the whole canvas, as the adhesive film covers the whole canvas. The final product of a full drill kit is more radiant than the product for the partial drill kit, due to the larger amounts of diamonds being used.

All of our square and round diamond painting kits are full drill. Normally special diamond painting kits are partial drill but some of them may be full drill as well.

What do I do to get rid of the bubbles and wrinkles in my canvas?

Sometimes, air bubbles tend to be formed in the canvas due to packaging mishaps. To solve the issue, pop the bubbles gently with a pin. Smooth out that particular portion where you popped the bubbles using tweezers.

Mostly, diamond painting canvases are not horribly wrinkled or have a lot of air bubbles. But if so is the case, use a flat-surfaced tool, like a diamond painting ruler or even a regular steel scale. Turn the canvas over, so the blank/unprinted side shows up, and run over the scale on it to smoothen out the wrinkles.

Can I iron out the wrinkles of the canvas?

Ironing a canvas is highly recommended against. You should avoid ironing out the wrinkles of your diamond painting canvas because of the adhesive layer. A heated iron causes the adhesive film to melt and stick to the iron, which can end up ruining your canvas.

However, if you have no other option that may help you to remove the wrinkles from the canvas, you may cover the canvas with a towel or a cotton cloth and gently iron it with the iron at a lower level of heat. However, extreme caution is recommended, and it is not a preferred or favored method of removing wrinkles from canvases.

Small Size vs. Large Size

Big, shiny and sparkly canvases appeal to everyone, it is natural, even John Keats agrees that “A thing of beauty is a joy forever”.
